Before found Nostalgic Pictures, Michael apprenticed under Actor/Director Charles Martin Smith (Untouchables) as his assistant on The Snow Walker starring Barry Pepper (Saving Private Ryan). Prior to this, Michael formed Meinhardt FilmWorks. The company's first project was a MuchMusic video for Carmelina Cupo, which won numerous awards. michael went on to direct five more music videos atr Triton Films, one of Vancouver's premier commerical houses. Michael attended Ryerson Polytechnic University's film program and worked as a film tech in both IATSE & NABET.
