Greg Ng, a Richmond, BC native and UBC Film Program alumnus, has served a whirlwind initiation to the Vancouver film industry. After completing the program in 2004, Greg began work as a post-production assistant with Brightlight Pictures and has since moved up in the ranks to assistant editor on one of their current projects. Never letting his daylight occupation curb his editing experience, Greg has continued to cut many a short by night, working with a number of talented filmmakers in the process. Some of these shorts include “Nostalgia Boy” by Michael Meindhart (LA Shorts, MWFF, Comic-Con 2006), “Hide” by Byron Lamarque (TIFF, VIFF), “Canada Learns” by Matt Sinclair (AFF, CIFF), and Kryshan Randel’s Bloodshots 2005 award-winning after-school special, “The Bully Solution” which went on to be hand-picked by Robert Rodriguez for the grand prize. Greg continues to edit shorts, including Kaare Andrews’ “Dream Princess”, but has also recently completed work on his first feature, Tracy D. Smith’s “Taming Tammy”. His future career aspirations include having an assistant as opposed to being one.
